Google Logo - July 10

Once again, I was surprised by Google with logo for today. At first I thought it's an early Halloween logo and asked myself, why so early? Hahaha. So like the usual, in order for me to know what's with the logo, I clicked it and returned the search results for Nikola Tesla, an inventor and a mechanical and electrical engineer. Right then on I realized it's Mr. Tesla's birthday. Hehe. According to Wiki, he is frequently cited as one of the most important contributors to the birth of commercial electricity, a man who "shed light over the face of Earth". He is best known for many revolutionary contributions in the field of electricity and magnetism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Great logo Google. Great celebration.

Among other things, Tesla discovered alternating current - an idea which was stolen from him by his contemporaries. The guy was so far ahead of his time that many of his discoveries are still being studied today. Even more interesting is that, despite this, he died a lonely and obscure death, marginalized from the scientific community. Definitely one of the greatest unsung minds of recent generations.
