New Words from Oxford Dictionary of English

According to an article from Yahoo I just read a while ago, more or less two thousand words will be added on the next edition of Oxford Dictionary of English. These new words basically are the products of the continues evolution of the English language plus the dynamic Internet technology. Email, x-ray, and d'oh are just three of the new words added before. What are the latest? Below is the list of some new words that can be found on the next edition of the Oxford Dictionary of English.
  • Staycation - is like a vacation, but you stay at home and save money.
  • Bromance - is a close but non-sexual relationship between two men.
  • Chillax
  • Social Media
  • Vuvuzela - A long plastic instrument, in the shape of a trumpet, which makes a very loud noise when you blow it and is popular with football fans in South Africa.
  • Frenemy - a person with whom one is friendly despite a fundamental dislike or rivalry.
  • Cheeseball - lacking taste, style or originality.
  • Wardrobe Malfunction - an instance of a person accidentally exposing an intimate part of their body as result of an article of clothing slipping out of position.
I find some of these new words weird and funny. Well, let's just be thankful to those Oxford bookworms for bringing us these new words.

The article I just read did not mention when will Oxford release the new edition of the dictionary but I hope to see it soon.
