Get that Master’s Degree

Do you want to have that master’s degree specifically on STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, or math)? Then I have great news for you.

The Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship provides recent college graduates and career changers a chance to get that master’s degree that many have hoped for. Today, they offer an intensive master’s degree program at one of fourteen participating universities. The good thing is, they will give you a $30,000 stipend.

So who are the most competitive candidates for this wonderful chance to fulfill and get a master’s degree? As stated on their website, one must have completed an undergraduate degree in a STEM field by June 2011 and have graduated with a 3.0 GPA or higher. In addition, that someone demonstrates a commitment to the program and its goals.

If chosen, what would you expect? Great things like, you will have the chance to complete a field-based master’s degree in teacher education and get your Teacher Certification. But you must commit to teach for at least three years in a high-need school and receive intensive support and mentoring in the classroom.

The very aim of the Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowships is to look for effective teachers, recruit them and as much as possible retain them for the schools who need them most.
